New Mexico Sheriff Found Dead in Hotel Room while Attending Training
Officials did not immediately announce a cause of death, but Undersheriff Michael Brockett said no foul play is suspected.

Curry County, New Mexico, Sheriff Mike Reeves was found dead in a Santa Fe hotel room. He was attending training at the state academy.

Officials did not immediately announce a cause of death, but Undersheriff Michael Brockett said no foul play is suspected.
Reeves, 59, ran unopposed for Sheriff in 2022, ABC7 reports.
He spent more than 35 years in law enforcement, beginning his career with the Clovis Police Department in 1983.
Undersheriff Brockett will serve as the Acting Sheriff until Curry County commissioners appoint someone to fill the seat.
Reeves is survived by his two sons, Collin and Hayden, and his daughter Avery.
