Atlanta-Area Agency Recruiting Officers in New Jersey

“We are literally loading up our physically agility test and obstacle course…and we’re taking our entire testing process to the Northeast,” Capt. Jakai Breathwaite said.

An Atlanta suburban police department is looking for lateral transfers and new recruits in New Jersey.

Capt. Jakai Breathwaite of the Alpharetta (GA) Police Department says the agency is planning much more than participating in a job fair in the Garden State.

“We are literally loading up our physically agility test and obstacle course…and we’re taking our entire testing process to the Northeast,” Breathwaite told 11Alive.

Recruits will complete the testing process, sit through an oral board interview, a medical screening, psychological exam as well as complete a polygraph exam and a thorough background check, according to the captain.

Alpharetta police said even though they’re going to the northeast to recruit, those in the Atlanta metro area are encouraged to apply for jobs here
