The report, covering the first half of 2022, from the Independent Monitor overseeing police reforms criticized the department because it had "not implemented the required Officer Suicide Prevention Plan."
The report also noted the "Professional Counseling Division currently had 11 clinical staff vacancies."
The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (1-800-273-8255) provides 24/7, free, and confidential support for people in distress. The United States Department of Health & Human Services has also recently launched the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, and Safe Call Now (1-206-459-3020) offers crisis counseling services specifically for first responders.
