Officers with the LAPD's bicycle unit will begin field-testing Currie Technologies' IZIP Express electric bicycles at special events to determine their viability for patrol. Woman Guns Down Ore. Motor Officer During Pursuit

Officer Chris Kilcullen, a 12-year veteran of the force, had pulled alongside the 1998 Buick Skylark driven by Cheryl Kidd, 56, at a red light in Springfield. When Kilcullen, 43, motioned to Kidd to pull over, the woman pulled out a handgun and opened fire, fatally wounding the officer.
