RCMP say Commodore died when she was thrown from a Manitoba Corrections van she was a passenger in at around 9:45 a.m. Thursday. The van crashed into a ditch and rolled before coming to a complete stop.

Retired Cleveland SWAT entry team leader Robert O'Brien says that long before the Hells Angels case and its nearly $2 million in settlements his SWAT team always considered the presence of dogs in its planning. O'Brien's tool of choice for getting the dogs out of the way was the fire extinguisher.

According to the Mesquite Police Department, 22-Year-Old Miguel Sarinana was found in an unused classroom of the C building by an Eastfield College police officer during a routine check at 9:47 p.m. Sarinana attacked and stabbed the officer several times after the officer tried to interview him.

St. Louis County Police Stock Up on Riot Gear in Advance of Grand Jury Decision

The St. Louis County Police Department has stocked up on tear gas, less-lethal ammunition and plastic handcuffs in anticipation of massive protests in the suburb of Ferguson, Missouri, if a grand jury doesn't indict the police officer who killed 18-year-old Michael Brown. Video: Calif. SWAT Officer Shot in Anti-Gang Operation Dies

Pomona (Calif.) PD Officer Shaun Diamond, 45, was pronounced dead overnight at a Pasadena hospital where he was admitted Tuesday in "extremely critical condition" after being shot during a motorcycle gang investigation Tuesday morning at a San Gabriel residence. Authorities announced early Wednesday that the 16-year veteran of law enforcement, who leaves behind a wife and two children, had died.
