Abalone LLC Face2Face
A while back, Sheriff Tom Almann of Mendocino County, Calif., was looking for a tool that could convince local high school kids to stay away from methamphetamine. He'd seen many a young, beautiful face ravaged by the drug, and he decided that the way to convince teens that meth is bad news was to appeal to their vanity. So he contacted software developer Laslo Vespremi, CEO of Abalone LLC, and asked him to create a product that would show teens how meth use would affect their appearance. The result is Face2Face, a software program that can show anyone how six months, one year, or two years of meth use will make them look. The result is, of course, not pretty. And that's the idea. The system is fully portable and easy to use, and according to Allmann and other users, it's very effective. Face2Face sells for $3,795 and includes two 12-megapixel cameras, software, mounting hardware, and a remote control.
