According to Fox News, police say the pursuit ended when the driver of the vehicle stopped on a local highway, exited his vehicle, and produced what appeared to be a firearm.

Gunshots were then fired and the subject was struck several times, according to police reports.

The subject—whose name has not yet been released—reportedly died at the scene. No officers were injured.
