A police officer with the Lower Providence Township (PA) Police Department has reportedly been diagnosed with COVID-19, also known as coronavirus.

According to Fox News, the officer reportedly had direct contact with another person who tested presumptively positive for the virus.

The 35-year-old officer—whose name has not been released—is recovering at home and is expected to be OK.

In recent weeks a number of officers nationwide have been exposed to the virus that causes the disease, but this officer is one of the first to test positively for COVID-19 itself.
