Chief Ed Kraus of the Fort Worth (TX) Police Department has told his officers that in the wake of several recent active shooter attacks on houses of worship officers should attend religious services in full uniform as a deterrent against violence.

"In the wake of the local attack on the West Freeway Church of Christ last Sunday, as well as the attacks on Jewish communities and church services nationally, Chief Ed Kraus is authorizing and encouraging our officers who attend worship services to do so in full police uniform," Fort Worth PD said in a statement Friday.

According to ABC News, Kraus said that officers should first let their church know they are going to be in uniform during service.
