An officer with the North Providence (RI) Police Department was reportedly hurt when a 21-year-old woman collided head-on with his police vehicle.

The woman—identified as Jillian Vega—reportedly had a blood-alcohol content of .13, well over the legal limit.

According to WPRI-TV, first responders worked for 30 minutes to extract the officer from his crumpled vehicle.

The officer was then transported to a nearby hospital where he was reportedly treated for broken bones.
