An off-duty deputy with the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department witnessed a violent single-vehicle crash about a hundred yards ahead of him on a freeway.

Deputy Jaie Sacco immediately stopped and ran to the vehicle—which he later described as "pretty crumpled up"—and prepared to extract the driver. He looked inside to find no one there.

The driver had been ejected from the vehicle and was lying motionless nearby.

According to Fox News, Deputy Sacco was performing CPR when off-duty Elk Grove Police Officer Jennifer McCue arrived at the scene.

Working together for several minutes of constant CPR, they were able to get a pulse.

The woman was transported to a nearby hospital where she is now recovering from her injuries.
