Tennessee Officer Struck by Car Suffers Non-Life-Threatening Injuries

Corporal David Klein was attempting to pull the woman from her vehicle when she reportedly intentionally accelerated in reverse, knocking the officer to the ground and running over him.

Tennessee police say a woman intentionally ran over an officer with her car. The officer — Morristown Police Corporal David Klein — was responding to a call about a domestic disturbance Sunday afternoon when he encountered Connie Jeanene Davis in the driver's seat of a vehicle.

A Morristown Police Department news release states Klein was attempting to pull Davis from her vehicle when she intentionally accelerated in reverse, knocking the officer to the ground and running over him, according to the Knoxville News Sentinel.

Klein was taken to a nearby hospital with leg and head injuries — his injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.

Davis was arrested on charges of aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, evading arrest and disorderly conduct. It's unclear whether she has a lawyer.
