When none of an 8-year-old girl's friends were able to attend her birthday party, Augusta (ME) police officers stepped in and gave the girl a birthday party to remember.
The department had received a message on Facebook from the mother of the girl asking if officers could sign a birthday card. Every officer on the department signed the card, but they went further by hand-delivering it along with balloons and a birthday cake.
The department posted pictures of the surprise party on social media.
We were able to share birthday cake today with Larriah. She had a birthday party 🎈 put on today by APD after we found out her party yesterday was cancelled. Happy birthday 🎁🎂 Larriah! pic.twitter.com/uSQ0oHq6Wh
