Video: Crime Spree in Minnesota Ends with Police Shooting

A police chase in St. Paul (Minn.) ended in a police shooting, leaving the suspect dead and a 14 year old bystander wounded.

A police chase ended with shots fired, a suspect dead and a teenager hit by a stray bullet in St. Paul on Sunday afternoon.

Police said the suspect crashed his vehicle on Jackson Street near East Cook Avenue. He got out of the vehicle and fired shots into the "community." He then took a silver SUV by force with two people still inside.

After the apparent carjacking, police caught up to the SUV at West Minnehaha Avenue and North Arundel Street in Frogtown at about 4:30 p.m.. The suspect got out and fired shots at police.

They returned fire and hit the suspect multiple times. He later died en route to Regions Hospital.

"They knew he had a weapon. They knew that he had fired it. And they were prepared to take action if necessary," said Sgt. Paul Paulos with the St. Paul Police Department.
