A New Orleans Police officer has been suspended indefinitely without pay for an online comment about the Trayvon Martin case.

Officer Jason Giroir commented on an online news story that a young man wearing a hooded sweatshirt deserved to die because he "acted like a thug." Giroir posted on a WWL-TV article about protests in the Martin case, "Act like a Thug Die like one!"

"To say I'm angry is an understatement. I'm furious," Police Superintendent Ronal Serpas told the Times-Picayune.
