Nev. City Adds 27 Chevy Tahoes and a Caprice for Police and Fire

The Henderson, Nev., City Council approved the purchase of 27 Chevrolet Tahoes and one Caprice for the city to replace aging Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor (CVPI) sedans.

The Henderson, Nev., City Council approved the purchase of 27 Chevrolet Tahoes and one Caprice for the city to replace aging Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor (CVPI) sedans.

Twenty-four of the vehicles will be assigned to the police department, three for the fire department, and one for fire investigation. The city has 299 vehicles in this class.

The total came to $813,530 for the vehicles. According to city documents, all of the vehicles being replaced have been in accidents, are high mileage, and have maintenance issues. Seven of the CVPIs required transmission replacements and one had an engine that burned out.
