United Rotorcraft Solutions recently upgraded the technological tools of several Bell 206B-3 helicopters for the Dallas Police Department, according to the company.

The upgrades, made possible by a federal grant, included a BMS digital video microwave system, an upgrade of existing L-3 Wescam camera systems and auto-tracking, Avalex digital video recorder upgrades, and AFS engine inlet barrier filters.

United Rotocraft also installed the downlink equipment for the ground and mobile units and provided training for these systems. The downlink systems provide the Dallas PD's command staff with real-time images to enhance the effectiveness of incident management operations.
