Para USA will introduce 14 1911-style pistols during the centennial year of the iconic sidearm, including two special-edition versions, the company announced at SHOT Show 2011.
The Companion compact 1911 offers a backup option for law enforcement officers. The proprietary LDA (light double action) trigger allows for hammer-down carry, and it arrives with a seven-round magazine. Para gives the Companion a 3.5-inch barrel and 7.1-inch total length and 32-ounce weight. The Companion II adds 1/2 inch longer barrel and additional round capacity.
Three single-action, single-stack models will arrive, including the GI LTC, 1911 Wild Bunch and 100th Anniversary 1911.
Para will also produce two Warthog single-action models, including the Warthog with a 3-inch barrel and 10+1 capacity, and Hawg 7 with a 3.5-inch barrel and 7+1 capacity.
The high-capacity, single-action P14-45 will be offered commercially with a 14+1 capacity where legal (10+1 capacity in restricted states) and 5-inch barrel.
Single-action models include 14-45 Anniversary, 18-9 Limited (chambered in 9mm with 18+1 capacity), and 14-45 Long Slide Limited versions.
Lastly, the PXT Tactical models include the LTC Tactical with an 8+1 capacity and 4.25-inch barrel, as well as 14-45 Tactical with a 14+1 capacity and 5-inch barrel.
The 1911 Anniversary strives to reflect the pistol's orginal design, according to Para, and the competition-oriented 14-45 Anniversary arrives with a single-stack .45 with an integral light rail frame, adjustable rear sight, fiberoptic front sight, ambi safety and ramped Match barrel.
