Halix has developed a chin stock called the NSN (No Stock Needed) designed to be used with rifle-style pistols and regular pistols with carbine kits.
The Grand Rapids, Mich., company developed the NSN with input from law enforcement officers and military members to "make aiming more fast and intuitive," according to a Halix release.
The NSN can be installed onto any "pistol" AR-15 lower receiver, so users can carry a short barrel, highly-maneuverable firearm without extra registration. The NSN is ambidextrous and doesn't interfere with a user's helmet or body armor.
The NSN contacts the user's face and stabilizes the firearm with a stainless steel bracket and impact-absorbing foam pads that rest on the user's chin.
