Personnel will use the CAD software to track calls in real time and monitor the status of each police unit. Once data is entered into CAD, it will automatically be populated into the appropriate record fields.
With Mobile Records, field officers working on laptop computers can query the department’s database for names, vehicles, and other critical information.
Lyons Police Department Commander Neil Sexton said the department chose to replace its existing software with Spillman in order to remain technologically compatible with state requirements and reporting systems.
“Spillman products seem to fill that void,” Sexton said.
The Spillman system will also modernize the Lyons Fire Department and help the agency integrate its data collection system with the police department’s. Using a Spillman interface, fire department personnel will be able to import data gathered with Spillman CAD into the existing Fire Management software solution.
