PureForge introduced aftermarket brake rotors for Ford's Crown Victoria Police Interceptor (CVPI) at the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) conference in San Diego.

PureForge is primarily known for its brake rotors for law enforcement motorcycles and offers rotors for Harley Davidson, BMW, and Honda. The Escondido (Calif.) Police Department has outfitted its motor fleet with the rotors.

PureForge rotors show no measurable wear and don't need to be replaced during the lifetime of the fleet vehicle, according to the company. PureForge also claims its brake pads last much longer than Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) brake pads used with OEM brake rotors.

PureForge provides brakes to law enforcement departments with no up-front cost and charges a fixed monthly or quarterly fee that averages approximately 20% less than the department's current brake maintenance expenditures. PureForge offers a warranty on parts and labor costs for the lifetime of the service agreement.

To make the rotor's metal tougher, PureForge uses "atomic forged" technology, a metallurgical process protected by multiple patents and patents pending. By modifying the surface of a 420-stainless-steel brake rotor at the molecular level, the end result is a multi-layer, ultra-dense exotic metal matrix that is forged directly into the surface of the rotor, according to the company.

PureForge brakes for Ford CVPI models from 2002-'11 can be ordered from PureForge or Crossco. Shipments for pre-orders will begin in late October, and new orders are expected to ship by the end of the year.
