Virginia Sheriff’s Deputy Wounded in Range Accident

The wounded officer was taken to a nearby hospital for surgery on his serious but non-life-threatening wound, officials said. He is now out of surgery and in stable condition.

A Loudoun County, Virginia, Sheriff’s deputy was accidentally shot inside a training range operated and primarily used by the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office Thursday morning, officials said.

The incident occurred during a routine training exercise, and it involved another deputy, WJLA reports.

The wounded officer was taken to a nearby hospital for surgery on his serious but non-life-threatening wound, officials said. He is now out of surgery and in stable condition.
