3 New Jersey Deputies Injured from Accidental Discharge at Range

“It appears that there was an inadvertent discharge of a weapon while they were in the course of firearms training,” said Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office Chief of Detectives Tom Gilbert.

An investigation is underway after three Gloucester County sheriff’s deputies suffered minor injuries in a firearms accident at a shooting range in Camden County on Friday afternoon.

The incident occurred at the South Jersey Shooting Club in Winslow Township, where officers were taking part in training, an official told NJ.com.

“It appears that there was an inadvertent discharge of a weapon while they were in the course of firearms training,” said Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office Chief of Detectives Tom Gilbert. “Three people suffered minor injuries.”

No one was hospitalized and the injuries were not life-threatening, Gilbert said.
