Two men were arrested over the weekend on suspicion of assaulting Tempe, Ariz., officers. One also allegedly hit an officer's horse.
After Joshua Stuart Carpenter, 35, refused to leave Margarita Rocks in Tempe at about 10:30 p.m. Friday, a mounted officer attempted to escort him off the property, according to police reports. Carpenter resisted by hitting the officer twice and the horse three to four times. He also refused to put his hands behind his back and comply with the officer's commands, police said.
