An Eatontown (N.J.) Police detective has been banned from law enforcement after he pleaded guilty to criminal coercion and evidence tampering.
Philip Emanuele, who forfeited his position, attempted to coerce a 24-year-old Monmouth Mall worker into having sex with him by dropping a theft charge. The woman also handed over narcotics to Emanuele, who flushed them down a toilet.
Emanuele was making more than $114,000 a year at the time, reports NJ 101.5 FM.
