A Providence (R.I.) Police officer with strong ties to his community died Saturday night in a motorcycle crash while off duty.
John Reposa, Jr., 43, struck a vehicle at about 8:30 p.m. Saturday while riding through the intersection of North Road and Westwind Drive. The accident is still under investigation.
Reposa's chief said the officer was known to have "a big personality and a big heart." He was also known as a tough patrol officer, reports the Providence Journal.
