California Highway Patrol Receives Prestigious Awards
The American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA) presented the California Highway Patrol with three awards at the 2015 AAMVA Region IV Conference.
The American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA) presented the California Highway Patrol with three awards at the 2015 AAMVA Region IV Conference in Park City, Utah, June 1-4:
Public Affairs and Community Education (PACE) Award Category 1D – Other Print Publication for "Badges of Honor 2014," a publication recognizing and commemorating the 225 officers of the California Highway Patrol who have died in the line of duty.
Public Affairs and Community Education (PACE) Award Category 3A – Exhibits, Presentations or Media Events for "Start Smart Presentation," a teen-driving program that encourages teens and their parents to work together throughout the graduated driver license process to promote the safety and security of new teen drivers out on the road.
Public Affairs and Community Education (PACE) Award Category 4A – Video Production, Internally-Produced for "Women Traffic Officer Project – Celebrating 40 Years," a video commemorating the 40th anniversary of the Women Traffic Officer Project, honoring the 27 members of the 1974 WTOP class, and educating current members of the struggles they faced.
AAMVA's awards foster a tradition of excellence in the motor vehicle and law enforcement community. The awards allow AAMVA to honor individuals, teams, and organizations who have committed their time and resources to safety initiatives, outstanding customer service, and public affairs and consumer educational programs throughout North America. Awards are presented in the following categories:
