Sgt. Christopher Michael Vaughn, 38, died on April 1. He began his law enforcement career with Leesburg Police Department in 2009 and served with Cedar Bluff Police Department since 2015.
At approximately 4 p.m., 39-year-old Sergeant Arthur Basher suffered a medical event. Deputies and medical staff from the Division of Correctional Health administered CPR and other medical measures but could not revive Basher.

The sheriff’s office told CBS that Deputy Aubrey Phillips, who was assigned as a patrol officer contracted by the city of Dublin, had conducted a traffic stop Saturday at around 1:46 a.m.
Alexa Jacobs’ family said the 27-year-old is currently in a trauma center on Oahu awaiting a liver transplant.
“The joy and pride he found in leading his men and women was infectious, and there was nothing he would not do or give of himself to see them succeed. His presence is irreplaceable, and his memory unforgettable. Lieutenant, rest easy. We have the watch from here,” the statement added.
According to Greene County, Sheriff Gene Fischer suffered a medical emergency at approximately 9 p.m. Tuesday Nov. 16 while attending the convention.
A Chicopee, MA, police detective died Wednesday from a heart attack he suffered Monday while working traffic.
