Springfield Armory XD(m)-9 5.25 Pistol
Springfield recently introduced yet another version of the XD(m) designed for action pistol competition shooting, and I believe it is equally adaptable to law enforcement purposes. The XD(m)-9 5.25 was designed with the input of champion shooter Rob Leatham and is intended to give competitor shooters everything they need to compete right out of the box.

Daniel Defense v5 Lightweight M4 Carbine
The weight difference between the Daniel Defense v5 Lightweight and a standard M4 was immediately noticeable, nearly 10 ounces. That's a lot of weight if you have to work an operation for hours. The standard M4 has a short carbine railed forearm compared to the 12-inch mid length of the v5 Lightweight.

Kel-Tec KSG Shotgun
Most shooters' first impression of Kel-Tec's new KSG shotgun is that it looks like a weapon out of a video game or some sci-fi movie. But despite its unconventional bullpup design, I believe this innovative weapon will have a positive impact on the law enforcement community.

Kahr Arms CM9 Pistol
Kahr Arms' CM9 is a no-frills compact pistol. It's not as pretty as some of Kahr's other handguns, but it's a practical, inexpensive, quality gun.

Springfield Armory XD(M) 3.8 Pistols
As you probably have already noticed, the XD(m) 3.8 and the XD(m) 3.8 Compact get their names from their 3.8 inch-barrel, as opposed to the four-inch barrel standard on the original XD Pistols. The Compact designation is assigned to the 3.8 Pistol, which has the short "Compact/Sub Compact" style grip.

SIG Sauer P290 Subcompact Pistol
While at first the P290 appears to be a downsized version of the company's P250 Modular pistol, it is in fact a completely new and simpler design intended for one purpose alone: concealed carry. Accordingly SIG has reduced its dimensions to what might be considered the barest minimum for the 9mm Parabellum cartridge.

Sturm, Ruger & Co. SR1911 Pistol
I found the SR1911 to be a fitting example of a 1911 pistol. It was well built of first-class materials, and it displayed excellent ergonomics; above average accuracy; and reliability.

Product Test: FNH USA FNX 9
With the FNX 9, FNH USA has produced a well made and modern semi-auto pistol. However, its drawbacks as a duty pistol include limited backstrap options, lack of night sights, and a short trigger reset.

Kimber Solo Carry Pistol
What makes this concealed carry pistol, the Kimber Solo Carry, so noteworthy is its caliber. Instead of the somewhat anemic .380 ACP or the borderline .38 Special, this one is offered in 9mm.

SIG Sauer 556 Patrol Rifle
Don't let the name "Patrol" fool you; the SIG 556 Patrol is well suited for tactical team use as well. The new SIG 556 Patrol Rifle comes in two versions: the standard model and the SWAT model. The SWAT model is equipped with a quad rail for the attachment of accessories.

Sturm, Ruger & Co. SR40 Duty Pistol
The SR40's slide is machined from solid stainless steel, and it is the narrowest of any of its contemporaries. The slide also features very aggressive grasping grooves, making it easy to retract even with wet hands or when wearing gloves.
