Moose Shakes Off TASER Attempt In Alaska
Biologists with the Alaska Department of Fish and Game deployed a special TASER designed for wildlife on the animal on Feb. 4, yet they were unable to stop the hulking animal. Both probes from the electronic control device failed to stick in the moose because of its thick winter coat.

The officers followed Marvin to his home, where he ambushed them in an alley and physically attacked them. Both officers drew their guns and eventually used a TASER to subdue Marvin, who ignored their verbal commands.

It began as a traffic stop early in the morning on June 9 by a veteran Anchorage police officer. Then the driver pulled a gun and shot officer Jean Mills twice. The suspect, fresh out of prison and wanted on new charges, fled.

An Anchorage police officer talking to two men on a Fairview corner early Monday became the target of an irate woman who tried running him down with an SUV, police said.
