The suspect opened fire on another Austin officer in the backyard of a residence, striking the officer multiple times. The wounded officer returned fire and sought cover.

PA Trooper Wounded in Weekend Attack Remains Critical
Lt. James Wagner, 45, was shot by Brandon Stine, 38, during one of several encounters Stine had with troopers Saturday in Juniata County. Stine ambushed and killed Trooper Jacques Rougeau Jr., 29, during one of these encounters, state police said.

Supreme Court Allows Suit Against Maine Officers to Go Forward
Two of the three troopers petitioned the U.S. Supreme Court to hear their appeal. The National Fraternal Order of Police and the Maine State Police Association filed briefs in their support. Now that the court has denied that petition, the case will return to the federal court in Maine, possibly for a trial on the central claims of the lawsuit.

AZ Officer Shoots Gunman, Ending Deadly Rampage Targeting EMTs and Firefighters
The suspect then left the scene of the house fire a second time, before ramming a police car that was responding to the incident, Magnus said. The driver, identified as Officer Danny Leon, an eight-year veteran of the Tucson Police Department, immediately got out and took cover.

After that shooting, Harrison said, NOPD officers gave chase to Williams in the stolen car, following him through the city before Williams crashed a red Toyota Corolla on North Carrollton Avenue near Flowerdale Court. MS Deputy and 7 Others Killed, Suspect in Custody
It appears the deputy responded to a call at Lee Drive of a resident wanting the suspect removed from the property. Rushing said the deputy and three others were killed there. Two more people were shot and killed at a residence on Coopertown Road, he said. A third crime scene was located near where Godbolt was captured, according to reports.
