Man Gets 30 Years for Killing Tribal Officer
In 2019, Cleveland pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, which carried a maximum penalty of life in prison. He also pleaded guilty to violating the conditions of his supervised release in a previous case in which he forced his way into a home on the Navajo Nation armed with a baseball bat and assaulted a woman in 2012.

An initial investigation indicated 42-year-old Cpl. Thomas Wade Frazier was traveling north on U.S. 285 around 10:45 a.m. in a pickup truck which crashed into the rear of the semitrailer.

Shot by Cop Killer, NM Officer Got Back Up and Fought Back
Las Cruces police officer Adrian De La Garza is seen shot by suspect Omar Felix Cueva and falling to the ground, but he quickly gets up and continues firing at Cueva until he reaches the suspect's car. Cueva was killed during the shootout with officers.

Seventeen officers, one lieutenant, and two sergeants resigned from the team. According to Shaun Willoughby, president of the Albuquerque Police Officers’ Association, the officers feel over-scrutinized, so they decided to take a stand with each other.

New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham (D) signed a bill Wednesday ending qualified immunity for all government workers, including police. New Mexico is the first state to end qualified immunity for all public employees.

During the traffic stop, the driver identified by authorities as 39-year-old Omar Felix Cueva reportedly shot and killed Jarrott. He then fled the scene.
