Fallen Seattle Cop Honored 76 Years After Death
A Seattle Police officer killed in the line of duty in 1935 has been awarded the state's Law Enforcement Medal of Honor. Officer Olof Wilson was on foot patrol, when he crossed the street to answer a police call box and was struck by a drunk driver.

N.J. Officers' Gun Battle with Fleeing Motorist
Officers Rachel Morgan and Ryan Hayo of the Paramus (N.J.) Police Department have been named officers of the month for July by the
National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund
. The officers returned fired at a driver who began shooting at Morgan from his car lodged in a snow bank.

The magazine won WPA Maggie awards for Best Feature Article for a feature about the investigation of a civil rights-era killing of a deputy and Best Series of Articles for the magazine's Duty Dangers series. In all, the magazine garnered four nominations.
