Editor David Griffith said he was thrilled to receive the awards.
"They are the result of excellent writing by Dean Scoville and Kristine Meldrum Denholm, but the final product was a true team effort with every member of our staff playing a key role in their development, editing, layout, and production," Griffith said Monday. "It also should be noted that our sales staff has done an amazing job of giving us the pages and resources to execute these important stories."
The magazine also received nominations for
Best Cover
and
Best Public Safety
. All awards and nominations were in the trade, rather than consumer, category.
"Awards are wonderful, but what we really cherish is the feedback that we get from officers, both good and bad," Griffith added. "Our readers are fiercely loyal, but they never shy away from telling us what they think. That's invaluable, and it inspires us every day."
