The Night Hawk features a 72-volt, 30-hp electric motor that generates 130 ft. lbs. of peak torque. The high-capacity, 12-volt deep-cycle batteries provide a 30-plus-mile range on a full charge. The vehicle arrives with a dash-mounted battery fuel gauge.

Washington Agency Adds T3 for Downtown Patrol
The Bellevue (Wash.) Police Department has added a T3 Motion Law Enforcement vehicle to more effectively patrol the city's downtown core. The Bellevue Police Foundation donated the $13,166 to fund the purchase.

Glide Cruisers for Campus Patrol
The Defender is the base cruiser with a 48-volt motor, 15Ah Lithium battery, and 25-mile range. The Enforcer adds a higher-capacity battery (20Ah Lithium), extending the range to 30 miles. Both can reach a top speed of 32 mph.

Zero Upgrades Electric Motorcycles for 2011
The Zero S and Zero DS have been given a new look; and the street and dual sport models will become the world's first production electric motorcycles to feature a maintenance-free belt drive system. Zero has also increased the capacity of the power packs by 12.5% to extend the motorcycles' range.

Vectrix VX-3 Electric Vehicle
The Los Angeles Police Department is now field-testing the Vectrix VX-3, a unique three-wheeled electric patrol vehicle that will be available in the spring. The LAPD is testing the scooter-type vehicle at the city's LA Live entertainment complex that includes Staples Center. The vehicle was debuted at the 2010 COPSWEST trade show. Photos by Paul Clinton.
