A Baltimore City Schools Police officer who intervened to halt a robbery in progress at a 99 Cent store shot one of the suspects. The officer shot the suspect on the upper body after he approached "in a threatening manner."

The men detonated two acid bombs in their yard and threw a third into the yard of their neighbor, a Baytown police officer. Officers from the department's bomb squad disarmed the device.

LAPD Officer Stacey Lim's Lethal-Force Encounter
LAPD Officer Stacey Lim details her off-duty lethal force encounter. Lim was driving home after a softball game on June 9, 1990, when a carjacker ambushed and shot her as she exited her truck outside of her Canyon County home. After a 15-year-old gang member shot Lim with a stolen .357 Magnum, she returned fire, ending the threat. Officer Lim recieved the Medal of Valor in 1991.
