A man seized the service weapon of a Lynn (Mass.) PD officer following a physical confrontation and then fatally shot himself with the weapon, reports the Boston Globe.
The officer, who was working a paid detail for a Verizon work crew in front of Lynn City Hall, was taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
