Man Wanted for Questioning in Murder of Kentucky Officer Arrested
Pikeville Police Department Officer Scotty Hamilton was shot and killed in the line of duty late Tuesday night in Pike County, Kentucky. Investigators later obtained an arrest warrant for John Russell Hall, 55, of Pikeville, for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Investigators want to question Hall about Hamilton's death, according to a press release from the Kentucky State Police on Thursday morning.

Officials in Eastern Kentucky say Officer Scotty Hamilton was shot and killed around 11:30 p.m. Hamilton, along with Kentucky State Police Troopers, were investigating a reported crime in the Hurricane Creek area of Pike County when Hamilton was shot.

Louisville Detective Shot in Head, Suspect Killed
Three people were shot in an exchange of gunfire during a drug investigation, Chief Steve Conrad said at a press conference Thursday evening – the injured officer, the suspect who died and a third suspect, who was also taken to University of Louisville Hospital. Police have not identified anyone involved in the shooting.
