Officer Edgar Flores of the DeKalb County (GA) Police Department was conducting a traffic stop on Thursday evening when a subject fled on foot, opening fire on Flores as he ran. Flores was struck and subsequently died from his wounds.

Georgia Officer Shot, Saved by Vest While Investigating Marijuana Smell at Gas Station
Yother then approached the car and asked for ID. That's when the GBI said a woman in the passenger seat pulled a gun out of the glove box and shot him in the arm. That bullet ricocheted into his chest, where it hit his vest and his cellphone.

Officers with the Chamblee (GA) Police Department responded on Monday to an armed robbery at a pharmacy just seconds after the crime had been committed. An officer gave chase on foot while another drove up and—knowing the clear threat presented by the armed suspect—bumped into the offender with his squad car.
