A K-9 with the Las Vegas Metro Police Department is expected to recover after being stabbed while taking down a suspect involved in a standoff situation on Saturday.
The agency posted pictures of K-9 Hunter on its Facebook page, stating that the dog was stabbed twice in the neck.
The post read, in part, "Hunter is expected to recover, following expert medical care at the animal hospital. Hunter was vitally important in bringing a SWAT standoff situation to an end...without the need for officers to use deadly force. Please join us in wishing Hunter a full and speedy recovery!"
