Phoenix Anti-Graffiti Program Nets 15 Arrests

Phoenix police announced Tuesday that a new anti-graffiti program has netted 15 arrests in the past two months. Most of the suspects are gang-affiliated teens between the ages of 13 to 17, police said. The suspects were arrested in the Maryvale police precinct in connection with approximately $40,000 worth of damage, police said at a Tuesday press conference.

Dallas PD to Begin Testing for Steroid Use

The Dallas Police Department plans to start testing officers for illegal anabolic steroids use on July 1. Police officials said they had been researching incorporating testing for steroids as part of their random drug testing program for at least a year, said Acting Assistant Chief Floyd Simpson.

The New York Police Department is considering giving stun guns to officers who walk the city's streets, a police spokesman said on Wednesday, prompting calls for restraint from a human rights group. Suit Accuses Albuquerque PD of Racial Profiling

Albuquerque police officers stopped Edward Henry's rental car, forced him to get out at gunpoint and accused the Dallas engineer of coming to the city to steal a car, according to a federal lawsuit he has filed against the city. Illinois Police Chief Charged in Prostitution Scam that Netted $400K

Scott Fitts, 40, the police chief of Grant Park for 14 years, was arrested outside his home in Manteno and arraigned in federal court in Springfield on 10 counts of wire fraud, making false statements to federal investigators, income-tax evasion and illegal structuring of financial transactions, said U.S. Atty.
