Responding to the urgent need for dependable emergency equipment, Pelican Products Inc. has delivered hundreds of lighting tools and many of its protective cases to the Sichuan Police Department and China Red Cross personnel in the Sichuan Province.

"This earthquake has caused a tragedy of epic proportions and, as a global company, it was imperative that we get involved to help those brave law enforcement and Red Cross volunteers who are risking their lives to help those in need at this critical hour," said Lyndon Faulkner, CEO of Pelican Products. "Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this terrible disaster."

To maximize lighting efficiency and usage, Pelican sent the 9450B Remote Area Lighting System (RALS), StealthLite 2410 Recoil LED, and StealthLite 2400.

The 9450 RALS is a self-contained, portable, and rechargeable area lighting system that features an eight-foot telescoping light tower with a swivel head of 16 one-watt LEDs that provide a brilliant 1,280 lumens for nine hours of peak brightness and 17 hours total burn time. The StealthLite 2410 Recoil LED provides 32 lumens of clean, brilliant LED light for up to 32 hours by utilizing Recoil LED Technology that harnesses 100 percent of given light by shining a 1-watt LED backward at a parabolic mirror. The StealthLite 2400 is one of the most dependable flashlights in the world because it uses a high-powered incandescent light bulb backed up by an O-ring seal and several additional safety features to provide safe, bright illumination in dangerous situations such as broken gas mains.

Pelican also sent its 1500 Cases along with its 1500 EMS Cases that feature a specially engineered medical supply organization system that includes a lid organizer with clear pockets and a fully customizable, hook-and-loop, padded divider set. The system is perfect for quick and easy inventory and storage of pre-filled syringes, solutions, vials, and ampoules along with all other accessories carried by EMS techs everywhere. Both the 1500 and EMS Cases feature a distinctive, trademarked "Dual Band" design with a cell-core polymer construction that helps them protect sensitive equipment from some of the harshest conditions on Earth.

The company opened its Shanghai office in 2006 in response to high demand for its products in China and has been importing product there and around the globe at an extremely brisk pace.

"Professionals around the world are in dire need of lighting systems that won't let them down in extreme situations, and we are proud to be able to rise to the occasion and help the local first responder heroes in the Sichuan Province," said John Chesen, Pelican's director of international sales.
