Remington's innovative R12P Tactical shotgun , which will be available later this year, is the law enforcement version of its Versa Max shotgun. The self-regulating, dual-pistol VersaPort gas system allows the semi-auto shotgun to handle any length of shell you can pull from your go bag. Remington has begun offering initial builds of the R12P to law enforcement customers, and will release the gun in the fourth quarter. The gun was introduced at SHOT Show in January. It will retail for about $1,100. View a video of the shotgun here .

Remington's R12P Tactical shotgun provides 12-, 14.5-, 18-, or 22-inch barrels with capacity for 5, 6, 7, or 9 shells (+1 included).

The R12P Tactical includes a recoil pad and cheekpiece, reversible safety button, black-anodized finish, and removable accessory rails.

The R12P's VersaPort gas system regulates gas pressure based on the length of the shell. The gun cycles 2 3/4-, 3-, and 3 1/2-inch shells.

The R12P is available with various stocks, sighting systems, and chokes. This version shows the 14.5-inch barrel, SFIV-S stock, and low-profile rifle sights.

When pairing 12-gauge Magnum shells with the R12P, a shooter would see a nearly 20% reduction in recoil compared to a standard 20-gauge pump shotgun.

Three stocks are available with the R12P: synthetic with LOP kit; SFIV pistol grip with 14-inch LOP; and SFIV-S pistol grip 13-inch LOP.
