4,000 NYPD Officers Expected to Retire, Resign This Year
If the pace continues in the fourth quarter, the NYPD stands to lose 4,072 officers this year. That’s even higher than the crippling attrition the department suffered in 2002, when 3,846 officers left the force following Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center.

BWC Shows LAPD Officer Deploying Taser to Stop Man Advancing with Swords
The suspect did not comply with repeated commands to drop the sword. The video shows an officer deploy his taser as the man advances with two swords pointed forward at the officer.
The LAPD released body-worn camera footage of when an officer deployed his taser to stop a man armed with swords Tuesday night.
