The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) released body-worn camera footage of when an officer deployed his taser earlier this week to stop a man brandishing two swords and advancing on officers.

Tuesday evening, officers patrolling the Wilshire area were dispatched to the report of a man armed with a sword. Once on scene, officers found the man was armed with two swords.

Once the man fell to the ground; he released one sword but maintained possession of a second sword. Officers continued with commands to drop the sword and eventually took the man into custody.

Nearby, officers located a victim who had sustained several stab wounds. They immediately rendered aid until paramedics arrived.

Police report the stabbing victim was transported in stable condition.
