Code 4 Cuffs were created after three Florida law enforcement officers were killed by a prisoner who freed himself from his handcuffs with a hidden key. The handcuffs are triple locking, utilize standard keys, fold flat for carry, and have been awarded two U.S. patents. The separate yet redundant triple lock engages with the pivot point. The location and operation of the lock makes prisoner self-release even with a key extremely difficult. Code 4 Cuffs are ideal for regular duty use, prisoner transport, high-risk applications, or for any officer or agency that wants a higher security handcuff.
