Law enforcement in Kansas City, Missouri, is searching for a suspect who ran over a city police officer with an all-terrain vehicle Saturday evening. The officer was injured and is expected to recover and return to work, the KCPD said on Facebook.
Kansas City Officer Run Over by ATV Driver
The officer tried to take the ATV driver into custody, “when the driver brought the ATV into a wheelie and struck our officer, landing atop our officer, and then continued to drive over him,” Chief Stacey Graves said.

The officer was attacked while trying to deploy tire deflation devices to deter offroad motorized bicycles and an ATV from performing stunts and driving erratically, KCPD Chief Stacey Graves told KCTV5.
At a nearby intersection officer tried to take the ATV driver into custody, “when the driver backed up, brought the ATV into a wheelie and struck our officer, landing atop our officer, and then continued to drive over him as he fled the scene,” Graves added.
Law enforcement then lost sight of the driver, and he has not been seen since.
The KCPD is asking for public help in identifying and locating the suspect.
Graves pleaded with the Kansas City community to relay any information connected with the incident to police.
“Do you recognize this person? He has proven he is a danger to Kansas City’s public safety. Anonymously send in tips at https://www.kccrimestoppers.com or call 816-474-TIPS,” the KCPD posted on Facebook along with a photo of the ATV rider.
