When an apartment building in Scottville, Michigan, caught on fire Monday night around 9:50 p.m., Mason County Sheriff’s deputies were the first emergency personnel to respond.

Sergeant Adam Claveau used his agency pickup truck as a platform to reach the trapped people. Claveau, along with Deputy Matt Moss and Michigan State Police Trooper Mansour rescued the trapped residents.

The deputies arrived and found that people were trapped on the second floor of the building, Mason County SO said in a Facebook release. The smoke from the blaze had chased out to their balconies and they could not escape.
Sergeant Adam Claveau used his agency pickup truck as a platform to reach the trapped people. Claveau, along with Deputy Matt Moss and Michigan State Police Trooper Mansour rescued the trapped residents, including a very young child.
