Colorado Police Release Video of Felony Traffic Stop

The Parker Police Department says a neighboring agency notified them of the location of a suspected stolen vehicle. Officers were dispatched to the scene and when they arrived the car drove away.

The Parker (Colorado) Police Department has released a video of its officers conducting a high-risk felony traffic stop on Feb. 17, 2025.

Parker PD says a neighboring agency notified them of the location of a suspected stolen vehicle. Officers were dispatched to the scene and when they arrived the car drove away, police say. The suspect pulled over when the officers activated their lights and sirens.

The video shows the suspect complying with police commands and being handcuffed. Parker PD reports he was transported to Douglas County Jail.

Text accompanying the Facebook release, which is clearly designed to educate the public, says, “Officers conduct high-risk felony traffic stops when a suspect is believed to be armed, dangerous or fleeing a serious crime. They use a coordinated approach, issuing commands from a safe distance, often with weapons drawn, to minimize risk. The goal is to ensure officer and public safety while securing suspects.”
