A Middle Township, New Jersey, Police officer is being credited with helping to save a baby girl who stopped breathing on the night of Nov. 28, 2024.
Patrolman Chris Rudy was the first emergency responder to arrive on the scene after the mother made a frantic call to 911 to report her 1-week-old daughter was not breathing.
Rudy observed the mother attempting CPR on the infant. The baby was reportedly blue and cold to the touch. Rudy started CPR, and the infant began to regain consciousness, the video shows.
Rescue personnel soon arrived and began caring for the infant. She had a pulse and was transported to the hospital for examination.
“The quick actions of Ptlm. Rudy and the teamwork of the rescue personnel played a crucial role in saving the life of the newborn,” the Middle Township Police said on Facebook.
